Front beds in fall, miss the gardenia flowers, a few dwarf mexican petunias are still flowering. Though its getting late in season I will be transferring some salvia near the driveway to the bed nearer to the bottom of the 'lobe' and put in a golden yellow eunonymus there as well. Drift roses are popping out some flowers now despite the shade from the wall on the side in that area. Hosta at far right suffered some type of caterpillar attack! The Crape Myrtle in foreground didn't fare well after trim earlier in the year, hope it improves or may swap out with a Thuja

Purslanes removed and bed carved out with a curve.

Tree roses started another flowering cycle, haven't had much luck getting large blooms they had 2 years ago.

Digging up the yard for a curved brick border to define the space. Was quite uninteresting previously.

Trusty trolley lightens the load!

Got two grow bags for the Bananas' and put the bricks end to end between the bags. the Mums under the Ligustrum's keep coming back! I cut them back before the fall for the nice lush budding/flowering. The Mammy Croton did not survive last winter.

Rescued the Yaupon Holly shrub at left from a landscape redo job on other side of town.

Dwarf Bananas are now in easily moveable pots and have been replaced by Knockout roses in the grow bags.
You can just see the compost bin with the perforated blue lid in the back.

The bricks went in side by side after the grow bag to the right.

I made some climbing tripod stakes for the climbing mandevillas' unfortunately they were lost to a mild frost. The Walkers Low were moved near the large ligustrum.

Trying to grow some jazmine in the beds between the pots as ground cover.

The dwarf Mexican petunias' were taken to the front side bed.

Surviving mums from 2 years ago growing under the Bradford tree.

Adopted a guppy, now schooling with the cardinals, everyone gets along.
This bed was once two seperate mulch mounds around the oak and the shrubs near the foundation. I just had to join them up to create 'flow'.Buford Holly at the back was planted to fill in and obscure all the piping utility stuff on the wall.

Plants here are Red Knockout roses, Dwarf Pittosporum, Azelea. Later on I plan to fill in the spaces with Marigold or something like that?!

Next project was to work on the front bed drainage. Some areas have heavy clay which I simply dug up and back filled with some sand to help with permeability down the slope:

Done!, the bed no long backs up with water near the stone border.
